MIKELL'S BIG HOUSE
Mikell’s Big House was built by Albert Twining in 1889. Albert was the president of the bank in Asbury Park. Unfortunately, Albert was sent to the “Big House” for embezzling from the bank. He invested in gold mines out west that didn’t quite pan out.
Mikell bought the Big House while living in San Francisco. She eventually moved into the carriage house (where she and Daisy live now) to oversee the renovation of the Big House. While the exterior was a true historic restoration, the interior was slightly altered to accommodate a modern lifestyle. Reviews: "Mikell was a welcoming host. Nice place, clean, 3 blocks' walk to the beachfront. Boardwalk, convention hall, and a lot of nightlife attractions are close by." - TripAdvisor Feedback "Mikell was wonderful. The widows walk view was lovely. Short walk to the beach. Immaculate place. Will be back next year." - Google Reviews "Great location near the beach and a very accomadating host... extremely pleasant and very helpful.... We'd go back there again in a heartbeat!" - Sterling Lawyers |
